The Board of Trustees of the Butte-Glenn Community College District is seeking qualified, interested individuals to serve on a committee of community leaders which will serve as the Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee for the implementation of the District’s Measure J college facilities bond program.

Proposition 39 specifies the role, activities, and composition of the Citizens' Oversight Committee.
As provided in Education Code §15278, the purpose of the Citizens' Oversight Committee is to inform the public concerning the district's expenditure of revenues received from the sale of bonds authorized by the voters in the November 2016 general election.
The Committee members shall be appointed by the Board of Trustees. It shall consist of at least seven members to serve for a term of two years without compensation and for no more than three consecutive terms. The Committee may not include any employee or official of the College or any vendor, contractor, or consultant of the College.
